5th Annual Fruit of the Soul! Bring it!
Posted By Kelly Orange on March 24, 2010
Hello Lovelies!
We are ahead of the game this year and already in the thick of planning our 5th Annual Fruit of the Soul celebration! We know many of you mentioned last year that you would like to work with us for our 2010 event - here’s your chance to get involved! If you would like to be a part of one of the planning committees for Fruit of the Soul, email us! We will be contacting those that are interested with specifics.

First off, ARTS has received a matching grant! The grant will match every dollar they raise up to $25,000 before March 30th! Help to raise as much money as possible by spreading the word and pledging even just $5! This is an amazing opportunity to make the most out of what you can give.
Please call Jackie Hwang at 619-297-2787 ext.2004 or visit A Reason To Survive.org to donate. ARTS is also having its spring event at House of Blues on May 22nd. Save the Date!
Just Call Us Volunteers
We would like to take a moment to thank our dear friend, Julie Darling. Ms. Darling has been an incredibly inspiring ball of fire by guiding and motivating us toward the creation of a bigger, badder, more successful fundraiser!
Julie is very involved in the San Diego community: she cooks meals almost every holiday for the homeless through her non-profit Just Call Us Volunteers and has recently begun working closely with Olivewood Gardens by recruiting local chefs to perform food demos with kids from nearby schools. Watch this video of the recent trip to Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center in National City with San Diego food writer, Caron Golden.
If you have children, volunteering during a holiday with them at one of Julie’s events is one of the best gifts you can give them. They’ll thank you for it later. (THANKS MOM!) If you are a Chef, or would like to give a helping hand please email chefjulie@me.com.
Just Call Us Catering is your one stop catering and personal chef services and Julie Darling is on the front lines ready with whisk and knife to make your next amazing meal!
Our support network continues to grow and thanks to people like Julie, we are becoming more organized event planners and getting closer to our goal of 501 (3)c status. We hope to see more of you in our network of lovelies!
Silent Auction Angels:
Julie Darling & Caron Golden are also members of the San Diego Chapter of the Les Dames d’ Escoffier.
San Diego Les Dames are excited to help us facilitate and execute the Silent Auction this year! We are very thankful and know they bring so much to the table (literally, we mean in the center of it all is a meal, right?).

Don’t forget we love you & are looking forward to collaborating with you, so many great things on the horizon!
